The most interesting thing about a company is it’s employees. In approaching a behind-the-scenes series, I wanted to show a different side of the company. A personal side. A human side.
The idea for the branding came to me after seeing a modernized version of The Dark Side of the Moon album art. It was perfect. It conveyed the idea of going behind the curtain in a musical framework that was perfect for our customer base. And the graphics were just fun to make.
I asked Darrell and Greg if I could bother them one afternoon. (I didn’t specify that I wanted to interview them, but lucky for me they’re good sports.) I unpacked my camera knowing they had very different perspectives to share, but I wasn’t sure what the real story would be.
They balance each other out in many ways, and their rapport is build on a mix of dry wit and gleeful absurdity. But at the end of the day, they’re there to make great cables.
